Slaves (in BDSM)

I decided that today I will go into further detail about what a slave does. I will start by telling you the difference between a submissive and a slave.

  • A submissive has limits; a slave has given up all limits except those which his/her owner sets for them.
  • A submissive obeys and serves by choosing to do so each time and retains her will. A slave initially makes a choice to obey his/her master/mistress at all times and then submits to the will of  his/her master at all times.
  • A submissive accepts submission, while a slave accepts obedience.
  • A submissive has retained some rights within the context of the D/s relationship, whereas a slave has given up all rights and becomes, in effect, property.
  • A submissive is owned, but a slave is possessed.
  • A slave is not allowed to sit on furniture or wear clothes, and always kneels at his/her owner’s feet.
  • A submissive has a safe-word to end play, while a slave has consented to no-consent.
  • A slave must be a submissive, but a submissive is not necessarily a slave.

This comes from this site: http://www.katekinsey.com/the-difference-between-a-slave-and-a-submissive.html

In this site, she goes into great detail how we should not really try to see the difference in the submissive and slave, but try to see what they have in common. Definitley read her article. It is really interesting.

A sex slave is often expected to perform sexually, though typically many relationship-oriented dynamics are also clearly negotiated, including clothing, diet, speech restrictions, household affairs and schedules, though the details may be left to the master or mistress. Sometimes the relationship is monogamous and sometimes it is polyagamorous.

A slave does not do scenes like a submissive. Once the slave has a Master they normally have a long term relationship. Just like D/s, a Master/slave relationship is different with each individual.

There are some Dominants who I know that like to be called “Master”, but they do not call their submissive “slave”. They like the factor that the submissive is owned by them.

Why would one choose to be a slave?

For many of the same reasons to become a submissive. They like the fact that they are a slave to their Master and they must do whatever he says.

Actual slavery is illegal. This is a consensual relationship.

I want to clarify that while I am saying Master and Dominant. It could very well be Mistress or Domme or Dominatrix.

I could probably say a lot more on this subject, but I do not personally know much about it. However, do not let my lack of knowledge stunt you. If this interests you, go out and look it up.

I hope to get to Dominants (Masters, Domantrix) soon. I also want to get to the art of spanking. This particular topic is very special to me so I want to make sure I give the full attention that is needed.
